About Me
My name is Pete Smith I'm a landscape and travel photographer based in West Oxfordshire, right on the edge of the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
I started my journey into landscape photography in mid 2018, after I purchased an entry level Nikon D3400. The next few months I spent watching many hours of youtube photography videos from all styles and genres. As a result, I decided on landscape and travel photography. My passion for the outdoors such as climbing, mountain biking and adventure sports made it feel like a natural progression. I spent most of the following winter on a sharp learning curve trying to master composition and the technical side of the camera and its settings. It was not an easy experience and I had many failed attempts.
Early 2019 I upgraded to the Nikon D800E with a 24-70mm lens and have not looked back. Since then I've gone through many upgrades to now using the lighter Fuji system. I've now found my passion, landscape, fine art, and travel photography and in particularly black and white.
